Frequently Asked Questions
What is your fee?
I offer a free 20 minute phone/zoom consultation. My fee after that is $250 per session. I offer a limited sliding scale for those with financial hardship.
Where are you located?
New York City, generally therapy sessions will be in person. For out of state clients, I offer coaching via phone sessions and zoom sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept payments directly from insurance companies but my therapy services are reimbursable for out-of-network benefits (coaching is not reimbursable) from most plans. Some questions to ask your carrier:
Do I have mental health benefits?
What is my deductible and has it been met?
How many sessions per calendar year does my plan cover?
What is the covered amount per therapy session with a licensed social worker?
Is approval required by my primary care physician?
I will supply an invoice at the end of each month in order for you to file a claim with your carrier.
Is my information confidential?
The law protects the relationship between a psychotherapist and client and information cannot be disclosed without express written consent. The only exceptions to these protections are when there is suspected child abuse or neglect or when the patient threatens serious physical harm to self or others, in which case every effort is made to ensure the safety of those affected as required by law.
What is your cancellation policy?
I request that 24 hour notice be provided for any scheduling changes, including cancellations. Less than 24 hour notice will result in the charge of the full session rate.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash or check, preferably at the time of service unless otherwise agreed upon.
How long are sessions?
